Anant Chaturdashi 2025 is a Hindu Festival of creation, yet also an emotional festival. It falls under the 14th (Chaturdashi<\/strong>) lunar day of the waxing moon of the month of Bhadrapada, which normally happens around a lunar calendar in August or September.<\/p>\n

This day is primarily devoted to Lord Vishnu in an Anant (eternal\/infinite) form. Anant Chaturdashi and Ganesh Chaturthi<\/a><\/strong> celebrations are intrinsically tied together, as many people see Anant Chaturdashi as the last day of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.<\/p>\n

After worshipping a Ganesh idol<\/strong> for ten days, on Anant Chaturdashi, devotees take part in Ganesh Visarjan, which means they immerse the Ganesh idol in a water body, like the sea.<\/p>\n

They believe that Ganesha will come back next year and is not gone forever, just like how he leaves our homes during the Ganesh procession.<\/p>\n

The story of Anant Chaturdashi is closely connected to Lord Vishnu and a courageous woman named Sushila, and her unwavering faith.<\/p>\n

A man named Sumant, who was known for his gentleness, had a daughter named Sushila in the past.<\/p>\n

Following the death of his wife, he wed Karkash<\/strong>, an uncommitted and insolent woman.<\/p>\n

During her childhood, Sushila wed a knowledgeable spiritual leader named Kaudinya Rishi<\/strong>. During their journey, the couple made a stop by the pond one day.<\/p>\n

A special ceremony was being performed by Sushila there, with some women in attendance.<\/p>\n

She inquired about the Anant Vrat, which was a ritual that honoured Lord Vishnu’s infinite form.<\/p>\n

Supposedly, it offers tranquility and economic stability as well as protection from difficulties”.<\/p>\n

As part of the puja, Sushila tied a sacred thread with 14 knots around her arm, known as the Anant Sutra.<\/p>\n

After spotting the thread, Kaudinya believed it was of no use. He became extremely upset and subsequently removed it before tossing it into the flames.’<\/p>\n

They experienced a complete breakdown in their lives, losing everything from wealth to joy.<\/p>\n

After recognizing his mistake, Kaudinya abandoned everything and searched for Lord Anant. He then left.<\/p>\n

He sought forgiveness and received divine counsel after experiencing numerous hardships. Kaudinya affirmed that the vrat would be observed every year.<\/p>\n

Those who have faith in the Anant Puja ceremony will be present on that day and attire themselves with sacred threads to connect with divine protection, good fortune, and the eternal blessing of Lord Vishnu.<\/p>\n

Jain Religious observance of Anant Chaturdashi<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The day of Anant Chaturdashi is a day of great spiritual significance in Jainism. This is the last and most important day of the 10-day Paryushan jubilee<\/strong> of the Shvetambara side.<\/p>\n

During Anant Chaturdashi, the Jain community engages in tone -sanctification, remission, and upliftment of the soul.<\/p>\n

The most important ritual that Jains observe on Anant Chaturdashi is called “Samvatsari Pratikraman<\/strong>“, which is an elaborate confession and penitence of all sins committed deliberately or intentionally within the last year.<\/p>\n
