To know about the Vishwakarma Puja, first, know about the Lord Vishwakarma and why he is worshipped by the devotees. The primary designer of the universe is thought to be Vishwakarma.

He is the official architect of all the palaces where the Gods live and the son of the creator, Brahma. All of the Gods’ flying chariots and weaponry were created by him as well.

Given that Vishwakarma is the God of architecture, the Vishwakarma Puja is being celebrated with tremendous fervour on Vishwakarma Jayanti. On this day, the workforce takes a day off and worships the machines.

Every worker and craftsman resolves Vishwakarma puja to work more efficiently and to seek God’s inspiration for new ideas and creations. According to tales, Vishwakarma is thought to have created the universe.

This duplicates the story of Lord Brahma creating the universe. Whereas, as per the legend, Lord Vishwakarma is believed to be born out of the ocean churning (Samudra Manthan).

Belonging to the Puranas, Vishwakarma was the one divine architect of Heaven, Lanka, Hastinapur, and Indraprastha. On the day of Vishwakarma Puja, Vishwakarma is worshipped by artisans, mechanics, welders, architects, engineers, and other craftsmen for prosperity in their work.

It is believed to start the new venture and business by performing the Vishwakarma puja. As Vishwakarma puja is considered to be very auspicious to start a new venture.

There is also a reason behind performing Vishwakarma puja, that the business will get successful, especially if it is a mechanical firm.

Vedic Reference: The marriage ceremony is primarily based on the Vivaha Sukta from the Rigveda (Book 10, Hymn 85), which describes the divine marriage of Surya (daughter of the Sun) and is considered the prototype of all Hindu marriages.
